Creating SPN - Customer Prerequisites

Customer must follow bellow requirements and prepare SPN with required roles and permissions to proceed on onboarding to INSIGHT platform:

  1. Login to Cloud portal

  2. Create one App registration (called SPN) - with default settings copy AppID for later use when onboarding to INSIGHT

  3. Add a client secret for newly created SPN - copy secret value for later use when onboarding to INSIGHT

  4. Assign 'Reader' and 'Billing Reader' roles on each Subscriptions you want to onboard - (this can be done on Root or Management Group level to save time)

  5. Applicable for CSP customers: Ensure that you can see Cost via Azure portal -

Onboarding SPN - INSIGHT configuration

  1. Login to INSIGHT platform

  2. Open Cloud Management under Administration

  3. Add Azure Tenant SPN credentials

    • Tenant ID [Your/Customer Azure tenant ID]

    • Tenant Name [Name of your Tenant]

    • Application ID [App registration or SPN ID]

    • Application Secret [Application Secret Value]

  4. Save [done]

Note: Reservations and Savings Plans currently not supported.
